The company

Background

Anders Johnsen, together with his wife Ingrid Johnsen owner of Tractive, and chief designer of the Tractive gearboxes started making his own transmissions already 1974. He started his working career at a company which made gears. A rally driver of his own, he saw a potential for better drive trains and soon had his own company making gear trains for rally and racing.

Made in Sweden - with pride and precision

By manufacturing the components of our Pentruder concrete cutting equipment ourselves in-house, we have full control of quality throughout the entire production process. All machining and assembly technicians take personal responsibility from programming to finished part. This is an integral part of the Tractive strategy and quality assurance.

Some concrete cutting times

In the 80:ies the concrete cutting business of the company took most of Anders time and the motorsport side of the business had to step back. In 1991 the concrete cutting business was sold and Anders started developing gearboxes again. However, the demand for new concepts for concrete cutting machines was big and Tractive now design and produce two product lines, Tractive motorsport transmissions and Pentruder concrete cutting machines.

Fast track weekends

Anders is still a rally driver in his free time, something which is very valuable for the design and development of the transmissions. Ingrid and Anders are now rallying together in the European Historic Sporting Rally Championship, with great success!

Investing for the future

As a family owned company Tractive has a long term strategy. Anders and Ingrid Johnsen who started the company have a long history in the concrete cutting business, and are since years joined by their children, who run the day-to-day business of Tractive. The organization is flat with 50 competent and engaged people, which are all focused on bringing innovative, high quality products to the concrete cutting industry. Tractive is investing heavily in machinery equipment to meet future demand, and will continue to keep production as much as possibly in-house. In this way we can keep full control over quality, and with modern, state-of-the art manufacturing equipment production it is very efficient.
